Start Your Child’s Day with a Healthy Breakfast

*Sharing is Caring*
A study by the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia found that nearly 1 in 3 children in Malaysia sometimes skip breakfast due to time constraints. However, it’s important that your children get the necessary nutrients they need to get the most out of their day – iron for red blood cell formation, calcium for strong bones and teeth as well as magnesium for better absorption of calcium into the body. Here are some quick yet tasty breakfast ideas to give your kids a healthy start!

Hassle-free Breakfasts
Simple food that provides your kids with nourishment for the day ahead!

MILO Drinks
A mug of MILO drink wins every time! MILO is not just any chocolate malt drink. It contains PROTOMALT, a special malt extract which provides the energy and nutrients your child needs to stay active throughout the day.

Bread
Bread is a good source of energy in the form of carbohydrates. Brain cells need a constant supply of carbohydrates and studies show that children perform better during class when they’ve had a good breakfast. Whenever you can, choose wholemeal instead of white bread. Wholemeal bread contains more fibre and other nutrients, and provides more long-lasting energy.

Fruit
Perhaps the easiest to prepare, fruit is nutritious and refreshing. Apples are a good source of fibre and bananas are a rich source of potassium, which helps maintain water balance in the body.

Breakfast Cereals
NESTLÉ Breakfast Cereals such as NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH and NESTLÉ HONEY STAR are packed with the wholesome goodness of wholegrains. When served in a bowl with milk, it provides your child calcium, iron and protein for a healthy start. Now that is something for mums to smile about!
